Iroquois Artisans was established in 1990 as a showcase for the Steatite sculptures of the Iroquois or Haudenosaunee. Many of the sculptors are traditional people, or people who follow the ways or traditions of the Haudenosaunee, the people of the longhouse. The Steatite images are a spiritual communication, a gift. Our gallery is located in Bala at Portage Landing, near the bridge where Lake Muskoka flows to the Moon River.
