The work of visual artist Jill Boschulte can be seen in her gallery/studio located at 101 Main Street in Sundridge. Jill works on paper in a variety of media including chalk and oil pastel, watercolour, monotype and collage. Her expressive and dynamic landscape images fuse natural elements, occurrences, weather, metaphor and personal narrative. Jill works from two distinct vantage points. Much of her current landscape-based work is from a traditional “feet on the ground” stance.
After completing her pilot’s license, Jill worked from an aerial perspective. The bird’s eye view continues to inform her work; a useful tool when arriving in a new place. Jill completed artist residencies in Spain and Newfoundland and is confirmed for another in the Shetland Islands this fall. The Gallery is open most days during July-August, otherwise by chance or appointment.
