2017 Session Muskoka: Craft Beer, the Muskoka River, Music & More

Summer’s favourite craft beer festival is back this August long weekend in Ontario’s cottage country.

The 9th annual Session Muskoka gathering will take place on Saturday, August 5 at Annie Williams Memorial Park on the shores of the beautiful Muskoka River. A highlight of every beer fan’s calendar, this anticipated event is an opportunity for ticket-holders to taste the best brews in the nation, while enjoying the stellar perks that come from visiting the province’s most popular summer destination.


Session Muskoka will once again present an amazing line-up of over 30 exceptional craft breweries and wineries pouring over 100 incredible brands. Here is a partial list of who’s coming, just to whet your whistle:

Live performances from the Griffin Main Stage will include The Human Rights, a ten-piece modern roots reggae band out of Toronto.

Formed by Friendlyness, who also plays in Big Sugar and Culture Shock, the sun-kissed ensemble brings together reggae artist Tréson and legendary keyboardist Bernie Pitters, who cut his teeth playing with Toots & the Maytals, Leroy Brown and Sly & Robbie. Have a listen – click here.

Also performing will be the epic cover band, Practically Hip. Established in Southern Ontario in 1997, the group wows their audiences with their passionate recreation of “The Hip’s” unique sound. Sure to have the Session Muskoka crowd on its feet, they are the most sought after “Tragically Hip” tribute act in Ontario and the U.S.


Shenanigans and games always abound at Session Muskoka, and this year’s event will be no exception. Featured will be the annual Beer Olympics (so get your team of four organized in advance) and the “Slip & Slide Ramp.”  Very cool prizes for games participants will also be awarded.

Also popular at Session Muskoka are the many food vendors who make delicious eats for the hungry and happy crowds, including Sully’s Muskoka Gourmad, Ronnie’s Woodfire Pizza, the Griffin Gastro Pub, and Pasta Tree & Smokehouse.
