7 Awesome Mother’s Day Gifts To Send With Flowers

There is a way to make a Mother’s Day bouquet even more spectacular: send the gift of a getaway to Explorers’ Edge along with it. Here are 7 possible trips to include with your flowers for Mom this year.

1. Spas in Spring

A spa getaway is an obvious choice of gift for Mom, but the beauty of these indulgent escapes is that they’re never out of style.  From facials to mani-pedis, from massages to custom treatments, a vacation at a spa will renew and reinvigorate her for more mothering to come. (When you think about it, the most pampered getaway you can give her, is the least you can do.) For a list of spa accommodations in the Explorers’ Edge region of Ontario, click here.

2. Edu-Tripping

EE Summer Library 111We made this word up – but it’s an actual thing.  Perfect for the Mom who likes to try new experiences, an “edu-trip” will combine her love of learning with some much needed alone-time.  The best part is there are countless new things to give a go.

Has she always wanted to go sea kayaking? Sign her up with White Squall Paddling Centre or the Ontario Sea Kayak Centre, both located in Parry Sound and both of which provide instruction and have guided-theme weekends too.  Canoeing more her thing? Plenty of outfitters and guides will help her find paddling bliss in Explorers’ Edge.

Does she like to let her wild side loose on vacation? Sign her up for ATV touring for an adrenaline fix on the Canadian Shield she won’t soon forget, where mud and giggles are guaranteed to fly.

Is your Mom more of a culinary type? Book a tour at one of four fantastic craft breweries in the region or sign her up for the Bog-To-Bottle Signature Experience at Muskoka Lakes Winery in Bala. (And watch for Mother’s Day Brunch specials at incredible dining establishments located here.)

If your Mom likes to try new things, the gift of an edu-trip to Explorers’ Edge will be a learning experience she’ll enjoy and remember for years to come. Click here for more ideas on what your Mom can see and do in Ontario’s cottage country.

3. Edurance Mom

summer 2014 101Let’s face it – most Moms have more stamina than you can shake a baby rattle at. But if she’s a little more the hardcore-athletic-type, why not pay her registration and accommodation for one of many endurance and recreational participation events happening in 2015, from elite coaching and training at the TriSummit in Huntsville in May to the Ironman Muskoka in August, from the Spin The Lakes spring cycling event in May to the Pedaling for Parkinson’s multi-route weekend in July. Tons of fun runs too, like the popular Band on the Run. Go Mom Go!

4. Take a Cruise for Views

EE Fall Collection 425There is something very serene and charming about climbing aboard one of the many day-trip touring vessels you’ll find in the Explorers’ Edge region of Ontario. Sit back and enjoy the view of cottage country’s renowned natural landscapes from the perspective that only comes from floating on the sparkling blue waters found here. Most Captains throw in some informative commentary too, which sort of makes this getaway idea an edu-trip combo. (Note that cruise season in Explorers’ Edge gets going closer to the May long weekend, so book her tickets and accommodation in advance.) For more info on cruises in Explorers’ Edge, click here.
