Winter 2014 has been one of the best on record when it comes to tons of fluffy, white snow falling to have all sorts of fun in, on and around. This Ontario Family Day Weekend promises to be one of the best ever as well, with plenty of outdoor adventure and unique events happening all across Algonquin Park, the Almaguin Highlands, Loring-Restoule, Muskoka and Parry Sound.
Get some downhill thrills at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area. Check out the Ice Trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park (and also the park’s fantastic Nordic trails and its tubing hill). Give ice fishing a try (no license required this Family Day Weekend) with help from one of many outfitters and bait shops throughout the region. Join the events to celebrate Algonquin Park in winter. Explore thousands of kilometres of trails by foot, skis or snowshoes. And go to the dogs with an incredible dog sled adventure.
