Position Summary

The Golf Shop Attendant’s primary function is to assist with the daily operation of the golf course. Their focus will be on properly checking-in guests and members for play, as well as booking in future rounds of golf and assisting with the organization and sales of merchandise. They will act as a guest service representative to all members and guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Books starting times
  • Checks in golf guests and golf members
  • Assists with recording Golf Shop inventory
  • Counts and tracks incoming inventory of all pro shop merchandise
  • Prices each item before it goes out into the shop
  • Answers Golf Shop telephones
  • Informs the Assistant Golf Professional of any items that need to be reordered
  • Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and hosts
  • Ensures the well-being of our guests and hosts by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
  • Comfortable making decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving
  • Ensures up to date knowledge of point of sale system
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of resort and its amenities
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times
  • Completes special projects in a timely manner as requested
  • Complete all other duties as required

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma an asset
  • Knowledge of golf merchandise and golf equipment an asset
  • Previous experience at a golf course an asset
  • Experience handling cash an asset
  • Experience working with computers an asset

  • Able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Is flexible with their schedule, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require, potential of overtime when required.
