Position Summary

The successful candidate will report directly to the Housekeeping Manager and will be jointly responsible for the overall cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas and heart of the house areas within the resort.   The general focus and responsibility of this position is to ensure that effective recruitment, training, and documented systems are established, implemented and/or maintained.   Additionally, this candidate will be jointly responsible for nurturing the positive growth of the department and its team members.

Duties + Responsibilities:

  • Improves upon and monitors Company, Resort and Housekeeping Standard Operating Policies
  • Aids Housekeeping Manager in facilitating meetings, ensuring team member morale is maintained and goals of the department are met
  • Ensures pre-shift meetings are communicated challenges noted receive follow-up
  • Sets + monitors daily room placement and goals of team leaders + members to ensure completion
  • Coaching + recognition occurs with a positive “Do it Right The First Time” philosophy
  • Conducts inspections of guest rooms, public + team member areas, outlets, kitchens and laundry areas as needed
  • Ensures VIP, special guests and owner units are inspected accordingly
  • Attends daily stand-up meeting, pre-cons, and special event meetings as needed to support Housekeeping Manager
  • Liaises with departments serviced by Night Cleaning and Laundry to ensure the needs of our mutual guests are met
  • Oversee daily operations on the floor to ensure Supervisors and Room Attendants have supplies required, are completing tasks on time, and closet orders are completed
  • Monitors 3 days out + updates staffing levels to optimize Quality/Quantity/Service results
  • Liaises with Commercial Services, Engineering + Guest Services to ensure preventative-maintenance and special projects are completed to standard
  • Attends to any guest complaint to ensure the guest need is met, dialogue with guest is tracked, follows-up with team members and ensures root-cause is reviewed to minimize re-occurrence
  • Ensures team member injury reporting and modified duty actions are in accordance with policy
  • Performs assigned emergency response duties as required
  • Performs tasks of other housekeeping roles as required
  • Performs functions of the Housekeeping Manager in their absence

  • or equivalent experience
