Boat Captain

Santa’s Village is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the 2025 season! We employ people that enjoy serving the public while helping them to create magical and memorable experiences with their family.

Santa’s Village is currently seeking a Marine oriented individual to join our team
of Boat Captains. This position is Full Time Seasonal.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and follow safety regulations on Santa’s Summer Sleigh, our 12 meter 50 passenger boat
• Communicate effectively with guests and other team members
• Assist with other duties as needed, such as crowd control and guest assistance
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with passengers and the public while ensuring a positive experience at Santa’s Village.
• Must be physically capable of performing lifesaving and emergency duties and able to stand for long periods of time.

Qualifications: 

• Experience on marine vessels
• You will be required to meet all Transport Canada criteria and obtain the following licenses and training:
  • Transport Canada Marine Medical
  • Marine First Aid
  • Domestic Vessel Safety Certificate (Formerly MED-A1/A2, Marine Emergency Duty Certificate)
  • Onboard Proficiency exam by Transport Canada

• A Pleasure Craft Operators License
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Willing and able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Attention to detail oriented and can record information accurately
• Ability to work in a team dynamic environment
