We are looking for the following seasonal position, with potential for extension at Muskoka Heritage Place.

Reporting to the Manager of Muskoka Heritage Place, the Culture & Heritage Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall creation, delivery, implementation, evaluation, and administration of culture and heritage and educational programs and special events to ensure continual optimization of the Community Services Department and that support Community Services and MHP’s strategic priorities and goals.

In this role you will ensure quality of service through creative planning, ongoing evaluation and problem solving. This position will lead special projects relevant to programming, support the Collections Coordinator with in-house and travelling exhibitions, and seek out grant opportunities as necessary to fund these projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

The ideal candidate will possess or be pursuing a diploma in Arts Administration, Cultural Management/Planning, Event Management, Museum Studies, Education, Cultural Studies, or a related field. A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in cultural and/or heritage programming, community development, event planning, administration, leadership, and service delivery. Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential, as is a general knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and legislation. A valid Class “G” driver’s is necessary. Experience with facility booking software programs, such as PerfectMind, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, Smart Serve and Food Handlers are considered assets.
