Front of House Manager
As Front of House Manager, you will inherit a bustling and profitable business unit, and will be tasked with carrying on the established tradition of offering a world class craft brewery experience to over 100,000 visitors annually. You will also be part of Sawdust City’s management team and participate in se ng strategic direction during this most exciting time in the company’s short history!
This position is a 14 month Mat leave position.
The FOH Manager will oversee all aspects of the brewery store and taproom operations. This includes hiring, training and management of FOH staff, shift scheduling, budgeting, results reporting, inventory control, site cleanliness, event management, promotion and most importantly customer experience and satisfaction
This is a “player-coach” position whereby the FOH manager will also work as a FOH staff member a few shifts per week
? Hire, train, schedule, manage, evaluate and lead FOH staff
? Set standard opera ng procedures and ensure compliance during every shift
? Be available to respond to all FOH issues needing management involvement or intervention
? Work with the Operations Manager to set annual budgets and monitor monthly results
? Achieve financial targets by increasing sales volumes, optimizing gross profits and managing controllable expenses
? Identify and execute marketing initiatives and special events to increase traffic to the brewery, especially during shoulder seasons and winter
? “customer first” attitude in FOH staff. Ensure FOH staff are engaging, responsive, friendly and deliver a memorable customer experience every me
? Establish good working relationships with key suppliers
? Ensure ongoing sufficient supply of store merchandise and taproom food/beverage products through disciplined inventory control procedures and diligent restocking
? Work with corporate marketing staff to ensure a consistent high level of social media marketing supplemented with traditional promo activity
? Establish relationships with local businesses and develop joint experiential tourism offerings
? Maintain constant cleanliness in all FOH areas including bathrooms and front entrance
? Be a role model for all FOH staff by embodying the cultural values of respect for the individual, customer service and product knowledge
? Ensure full compliance with all safety, health, labour and alcohol-consumption standards at all times
? Work closely and communicate well with the Events Manager to further business within the corpora on
? Experience managing a retail store and/or bar, ideally with P&L responsibility
? Ability to lead and motivate a team
? Ability to plan and prioritize workloads and delegate accordingly
? Possess a strong customer focus
? Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally
? Proficient with computer systems and good with numbers and budgets
