Grounds Attendant

Position Summary 

A Grounds Attendant will be responsible for maintaining the grounds in a safe and clean  condition.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Keeps outdoor areas tidy and swept, reporting on any conditions that need to be addressed on the Resort grounds, walkways and lawn

• Inspects all areas of grounds to be sure no hazards exist

• Maintains location and condition of outdoor furniture, waste receptacles and ashtrays

• Picks up any litter on the grounds

• Maintains equipment in good working condition, completing pre operational inspections and simple repairs

• Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for the guests, co-workers and owners

• Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require

• Enjoys working outdoors

• Able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

Education & Experience

• Valid class G (minimum) driver’s license with clean driving record required

• Experience in grounds maintenance, snow removal, horticulture, irrigation & landscaping an asset

• Tractor, front-end loader, skid steer, lawnmower experience an asset

Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
