North Granite Ridge Golf Club is a semiprivate facility in the Muskoka region of Ontario. NGR is an 18 –hole, par 70 golf course designed in 1999 by architect Jason Miller and is a Club that fosters great golf and a tradition of club fellowship. We are currently in search of a Kitchen Manager to help take our Food and Beverage operation to an extraordinary level. Operating out of a Beautiful Log Cabin Clubhouse the successful candidate will be organized, creative, and the ability to adapt to any changes to Covid-19 restrictions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Help create and introduce a new menu for both the clubhouse and halfway house
- Production and prep of food items in the kitchen
- Weekly inventory and ordering of all food items
- Create a weekly menu item for Men’s and Ladies’ Day
- Ensure that health and safety rules are applied and respected (especially HACCP)
- To ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of working areas (floors, equipment, tables, etc)
- To attend training when required.
- To be fully aware of and strictly observe Health & Safety and fire procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school level English communication skills
- 3-5 years’ experience in kitchen
- Graduated from a culinary program an asset.
- Ontario Food Handlers Certification
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS
- Indoors and outdoors in a hot industrial kitchen
- Fast, high pressure environment
- Extended periods of time of standing
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Use of sharp knives and tools, hot equipment and liquids, stoves, etc.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing or pulling.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including, days, evening, weekends, and holidays.
