JOB DESCRIPTION :

Summary of Position

Responsible for assisting the Recreation Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the Recreation Department. Main responsibility will be overseeing and executing the Adult programs for the resort.

Ensuring the safety of our guests and employees is your essential responsibility in this role.

Key Relationships

Internally: Provide all essential information to department heads and employees.

Externally: Continuous contact with all guests requiring exceptional guest relations.

Qualifications

possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Qualifications

1. Previous supervisory experience

2. Knowledge of public recreation programs

3. Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs.

4. Stamina to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

5. Ability to participate in activities.

6. A self-starter and a team player

Desirable:

CPR /First Aid trainer – training can be provided for the successful candidate

Skills & Abilities

Essential:

1. Excellent customer service skills to maintain an exceptional rapport

With the guests and co workers

2. Ability to work cooperatively with employees and managers as part of a team.

3. Ability to be creative with games and activities.

4. Ability to motivate adults and children

Mental Effort required to perform the job:

· Extensive mental attentiveness and listening is required when working with employees and guests.

· Extensive mental alertness is required to ensure a safe environment

  • Moderate degree of bending, stretching, and kneeling
  • Moderate degree of running and walking

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies and

procedures and collective agreement.

2. Maintain complete knowledge of fire and health & safety policies & procedures.

3 Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management as part of a team.

4 Assist in setting up and organizing department work area with designated supplies and equipment and always maintain cleanliness.

5 Maintain an inventory of supplies..

6 Always feel free to discuss new ideas or program changes.

7 Ensure all the equipment meets the safety standards and that all safety hazards are

8 Prepare reports of programs etc. to discuss at the weekly departmental meeting

WORKING CONDITIONS while performing the job:

  • Required to work outdoors and indoors therefore climate will vary.
