Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and overseeing the housing of 100+ employees. The Staff Housing Coordinator plays an integral role in the overall success of the Resort. As the main point of communication and information for our staff residents, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the overall employee experience. This candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the resorts staff accommodations.

Liaising with all areas of the hotel in particular, Grounds and Maintenance, the Staff Housing Coordinator is a key resource to all colleagues residing in staff accommodation. The Staff Housing Coordinator is an integral team member geared to focus on three key areas; Staff Housing Management, Employee Satisfaction, and Recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and organize staff move-ins and move-outs ensuring a welcoming and engaging arrival experience
  • Review and Investigate incidents/complaints as they arise.
  • Develop and coordinate strong relationships with grounds and maintenance departments.
  • Support staff members in securing off site housing
  • Work with landlords to prepare leases
  • Adhere to and participate in all Deerhurst initiatives, health and safety, and compliance plan procedures.
  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly housing walks to inspect cleanliness, safety, maintenance requirements, and housing supplies.
  • Organize and execute staff activities to promote engagement and increase host satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate financial and incident reporting.
  • Coordinate landscaping and snow removal with our Grounds team.
  • Implement and enforce all staff housing rules and regulations.
  • Track and maintain accurate organization and security of room keys.
  • Tend to any complaints with professionalism and tact.
  • Attend job fairs.
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognizes the contribution of colleagues; ensure recognition occurs in all areas.
  • Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Seeks out employee feedback and establishes an “open door” policy to identify and address employee problems or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with entire Deerhurst Resort team.
  • Maintains standards in compliance with all Deerhurst Resort Policies, Procedures, and Practices.
  • Promotes good relations with employees in all areas of the resort.
  • Communicates and implements current and new procedures and expectations.
  • Manages inventory and direct expenses to ensure tools and equipment are available and to budget.
  • Establishes guidelines for employees to understand expectations and parameters.
  • Responds and follows up to inquires and colleague concerns.
  • Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving.
  • Keep all records accurate and up to date.
  • Manage housing support attendants – coordinating key areas of cleanliness.
  • Ensure organization of fridges, freezers, dishes and pantry and oversee inventory of common areas
  • Initiate and innovate new housing initiatives to help promote a safe, healthy, and positive living environment.
  • Maintain all health and safety protocols.
  • Plan and execute staff events.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends.
  • Supports the Human Resources Manager and Coordinator with administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to lift 50+ Lbs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Experience in the supervision of personnel
  • Previous Housing Experience an asset
  • Maintenance Experience an asset
  • Property Management or Relator experience considered an asset
  • F Class license considered an asset
  • “G” class driver’s license with a clean driving record required
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management and people in a professional manner
  • Must be hands on in all areas of housing
  • Proven ability to manage multi-tasked assignments
  • Ability to develop and execute budgets
