Muskoka Lakes Museum Day
2014 is our 50th season and we’re celebrating! A number of events are planned, including a “Free for 50 Lecture Series” in July & August, a 50th anniversary book, and a photography contest running throughout the summer. All members of the community are welcome to a day of celebration at the island on July 26th – Muskoka Lakes Museum Day.
Ethan Russell: Best Seats in the House
In 1968, Ethan Russell was a young American with a Nikon camera living in London and hoping to become a writer. His hobby was photography. A few years later he was one of the foremost rock photographers in the world. He is the only photographer to have shot covers for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & The Who. He is also a pioneer of music video.
Algonquin Park Loggers Day
Join us for this highly entertaining and educational day when the Algonquin Logging Museum comes to life. Take in the demonstrations around the Logging Museum trail and try the old-timer loggers’ lunch served in the sawlog cookery from 12:00 to 2:00pm, or while quantities last ($10 per person). Also listen to the music of the Wakami Wailers throughout the day.
26th Annual Baysville Walkabout Festival
The 26th Annual Baysville Walkabout Festival will once again fill the streets of downtown Baysville with hundreds of vendors from all over Ontario, July 26 from 9am-4pm. This family friendly event will feature over 120 vendors including art, crafts, antiques, woodworking, baking, clowns, the Lions Club pancake breakfast, face painting, food vendors, and live music heard throughout the streets.
Burk’s Falls & District Historical Society 20th Anniversary Celebration
The Burk’s Falls & District Historical Society 20th Anniversary Celebration will take place July 26th from 10am-3pm at the Burk’s Falls Museum, 112 Midlothian Road.

Session Muskoka Craft Beer Festival is an annual event held an Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge. The Record Company
The Record Company will be performing live at Peter’s Players in Gravenhurst on August 12. In the short span of 2 years they’ve gone from recording their junkiest instruments in the bass player’s living room to playing with a diverse range of music’s top acts including BB King, Buddy Guy, Charles Bradley, The Wood Brothers, Social Distortion, and Robert Randolph.
Johannes Linstead is a Canadian guitarist and instrumentalist who fuses virtuoso Spanish-style guitar with Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, and Latin American percussion and instrumentation. His charismatic band features congas, bongos, accordion, bass and Spanish guitars and together they set fire to the stage as they let loose a fiesta of Afro-Cuban percussion and Spanish guitar magic.
