Regional Storytelling & Content Coordinator

Summer Contract Opportunity
Regional Storytelling & Content Coordinator
12-week contract | 20 hours per week | Remote with one in-office day/status meeting per week
Posting closes: June 2, 2026

Explorers’ Edge is looking for a summer contract team member who can bring fresh energy, digital curiosity, and a healthy dose of “what if we tried this?” to our team.

Our regional B2B brand is Explorers’ Edge, the organization that works with tourism operators, Chambers, BIAs, municipalities, and industry partners across the region.

Our consumer-facing brand is The Great Canadian Wilderness, the brand that inspires visitors to explore Muskoka, Parry Sound, Almaguin, Algonquin Park, South Algonquin and Loring-Restoule.

This summer role will help support both sides of that work.

We need someone who can jump in and help with:

  • Updating, tagging, and organizing pages on our website
  • Supporting an innovative B2B text message/MMS program for the region
  • Assisting with consumer content for The Great Canadian Wilderness
  • Helping create B2B content and communications for Explorers’ Edge
  • Drafting, editing, organizing, and polishing tourism-related updates
  • Supporting the team with destination development, visitor information, and industry-facing projects
  • Learning from the team while also bringing their own ideas, questions, and creative spark

But here’s the thing: we are not just looking for a summer helper.

We are looking for the person who reads a job posting and thinks, “I could probably make this more interesting.”

The creative thinker. The digital tinkerer. The person who asks, “Why are we doing it that way?” and then suggests something better.

We want someone who is enthusiastic, curious, organized, a little disruptive in the best possible way, and willing to try new things. Tourism is changing fast, and we need someone who is ready to play, learn, test, tag, write, post, organize, question, and help us keep moving.

This is a 12-week contract position at 20 hours per week. The role is primarily remote, with one in-person office day/status meeting each week. The successful individual will be remunerated as a consultant or third-party contractor.

Remuneration: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, to be negotiated with the successful candidate. That conversation may include more than just a traditional paycheque. We believe people should know their worth, and we are open to thinking outside the box — compensation, mentorship, portfolio-building opportunities, professional connections, learning experiences, access to projects, and other value-adds that make sense for the right person.

We will also cover approved expenses connected to the role, including tourism experiences, culinary experiences, outdoor activities, and regional familiarization opportunities. In other words: part of the job is learning how to be a tourist in your own backyard — and helping tell that story well.

Approved mileage connected to the role will be remunerated at $0.64 per kilometre.

Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence are not required, but would be a significant asset. This role may include opportunities to explore communities and experiences across The Great Canadian Wilderness, and being able to travel independently would give the successful candidate more flexibility, more hands-on experience, and more ways to help tell the region’s story from the ground up.

Yes, we would like a resume and cover letter… but we also want something outside the box.

Send us a short video. A sample post. A creative pitch. A tourism idea. A weird-but-brilliant concept. Something that shows us how you think.

Interested applicants should send their resume, cover letter, and creative submission to [email protected] by June 2, 2026.
