Spring flooding is affecting parts of our region, and conditions may continue to change over the coming days. This page has been created to help residents, operators, businesses, and visitors access official flood-related resources, municipal notices, preparedness tools, and road information in one place.
A Ministry of Natural Resources Flood Warning is currently in effect for the Bracebridge–Minden–Parry Sound District until April 22, 2026. Residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor official local updates closely and take appropriate precautions.

Before you Travel or Visit
If you are planning to travel within or through the region, please check road and municipal notices before departure. Conditions may change quickly due to localized flooding, rising water, or service disruptions. Ontario 511 is also a useful source for provincial highway closures and incidents.
Property Protection and Preparedness
Property owners should take precautions early, especially in flood-prone and low-lying areas. Official guidance recommends preparing for at least 72 hours of self-sufficiency, reviewing flood safety information, and taking practical steps to reduce flood damage. Ontario’s flood guidance, Emergency Management Ontario, and Public Safety Canada all have strong preparedness material, while the Insurance Bureau of Canada has current information on flood coverage and claims.
For Tourism Operators and Businesses
Tourism operators, accommodations, attractions, and local businesses are encouraged to monitor municipal notices daily, communicate any property or access impacts clearly, and direct guests to official updates for road, weather, and emergency information. If your operation is affected, update your website, social channels, and voicemail quickly so visitors receive accurate information before arriving. This is especially important as some municipal and district services are already reporting flood-related disruptions.
